On Mirror, you can mint entries as Writing NFTs, Subscribe to Mint NFTs offered by projects exclusively to their subscribers, and embedded NFTs shared in-line in an entry. Writing NFTs and Subscribe to Mint NFTs can be minted on several Layer 2 blockchains – the creator chooses the blockchain when they input the mint settings on Mirror. And Embedded NFTs from several Layer 2s and from Ethereum mainnet can also be minted on Mirror.
As a result, you’ll need some ETH on the relevant blockchain. If you don’t already have ETH on that blockchain, you can bridge ETH from Ethereum Mainnet via a bridge protocol. (Note that if the relevant blockchain is Polygon, you’ll need MATIC.)
A list of the blockchains we support, and the official bridges for the Layer 2s we support, is available here.
Once you have enough ETH on the applicable blockchain, you can navigate to your favorite Mirror entry, Subscriber NFT, or embedded NFT to mint it.
If you want to mint an entry as a Writing NFT, click “mint” at the top or bottom of the entry – a modal will open up where you can mint it.
If you want to mint a Subscribe to Mint NFT or an embedded NFT, click the “Mint” button under the image – a modal will open up where you can mint it.
If a Writing NFT, Subscriber NFT or embedded NFT is no longer available to be minted, you’ll see a “Buy Now” or “Buy” button in the modal that opens when you click “Mint”, which lets you purchase it on secondary markets directly from Mirror.
If you find an entry you love that doesn’t have an option to mint it as a Writing NFT, we encourage you to send a note to the writer. Feel free to share this support article to help them as well. It takes just a couple of minutes to make the entry collectable!
