Mirror enables creators to choose among a number of layer 2 blockchains. This feature empowers creators to select the network that aligns with their goals in the ecosystem that they are most active in.
Why change blockchain networks?
When we launched Writing NFTs, we were one of the first dapps to use Optimism for Writing NFTs. While Layer 2 blockchains rely on Ethereum for security, we designed Writing NFTs to be completely gas-free for creators to publish. Collectors only pay a nominal platform and gas to mint.
Different networks offer varying levels of transaction throughput and cost-effectiveness. Blockchain networks experience fluctuations in congestion and performance depending on demand. Changing networks allows you to be adaptable and reach the ecosystem you are trying to attract.
